I see no end of no smoking signs on coffee shop windows that happen to have an overhang that is large enough that the city considers it “inside” being ignored by the management of the coffee shops, their patrons, and people walking down the street — good on them all I say.

I could almost understand someone who doesn’t ride a bike coming to the sort of conclusion that Lynn Saxberg of Motorcycle Mama does when discussing Luc Bourdon’s fatal motorcycle accident - but coming from a biker? That’s just plain wrong.

Further to my last post on this stupidity additional information comes to light regarding new laws concerning cell phone use in the nanny state across the river…. in case you thought it couldn’t get worse, it can, it did, read on.

On January 11th, 2008, nine year old Martena Schaumlauffel of Viscount Alexander School did what any child would do after a snowfall. She laid down in the snow and made a snow angel. Now Martena is under threat of suspension for producing “Christian Iconography” in a “secular learning environment”. That’s just wrong.

The province of Quebec has joined Newfoundland & Labrador in restricting cell phone use while driving, once again the nanny state feels compelled to place restrictions on all of us because of the stupidity of some.
