Overheard on TV just now, “He [Tiger Woods] gave everybody what they wanted, and they needed, an apology“.
There’s a assumption being made there that is ever so wrong – the assumption that “everybody” cares…… and I don’t.

Cops leave ‘ransom note’ for seized marijuana; suspect arrested after calling
Investigators in the Florida Keys say they lured a suspected marijuana grower into turning himself in by leaving a ransom note in place of six seized pot plants.
The sheriff’s office in Monroe County says detectives discovered the plants in a wooded lot and confiscated them.
They left a phone number on a note that read: “Thanks for the grow! You want them back? Call for the price.”
Last night was not a good one for folks like me, the Sens lost 4-1 to Boston and the Canadian Junior team lost 6-5 in overtime to the United States. Not only am I disappointed in both outcomes but I’ve got a stiff neck as a result of having the Sens/Boston game streaming in on the small 22″ monitor, the Canada/US game streaming onto the 26″ flat panel, and spending the whole night looking back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, between them…. just watch, there won’t be a seat on the bus for me this morning either.
– and I’m getting ready to head out for a night of revelry, merriment, flashing lights, pyrotechnics, loud music, a better than even chance of (pft…. who am I kidding) gratuitous drinking….. and little to no politics.
To my bunkermates, balbulican, treehugger, Lily, Ma x, and all the rest – thanks for another great year, and a great many thanks to everyone who stopped by either to talk things over with us, or even just to see what we’re up to.
From our bunker to yours we hope that you have a great time doing whatever it is you are planning to do tonight. If you’re headed out leave your car keys at home, and remember – like drinking and driving, alcohol and karaoke don’t mix.

The Cornerstone Women’s Shelter blaze and last night’s fire at a women’s rooming house are bringing to light the urgent needs of women’s advocacy and support groups in Ottawa.
