Mayor Miller is a Friggin Genius
Even in the depths of a bitter summer garbage strike in Toronto, our not beloved at all mayor David Miller has been able to give us an inadvertent gem.

According to Wikipedia, to paraphrase, an SOS signal has been a universally recognized distress signal since at least 1905. While Morse code is slightly out of fashion these days, “SOS is still recognized as a visual distress signal.” The RCMP brass need to review this definition for a couple of reasons.
Dear Lord God of Heaven and Earth, please grant us weary bloggers solace from these two guys.
There will be a coalition government in Canada but it won’t be the one we were thinking of…
The last week’s events on Parliament Hill demonstrate how cheap and childish our politicians can be and how utterly absurd many aspects of our democracy are, or are about to be. Let me be the first here at Stageleft to suggest that the only sane course forward is for the Governor General to dissolve the House and insist on an election.
Did you know, for example, that even a political finance shell scheme that some might consider fraud is actually an issue of free speech in Canada? That bit of hack spin sounds like it came from the Conrad Black school of accounting. Got scandal? Insert “free speech”.

It’s not often that we come across a brutally honest post in the blogosphere.
I have to admit to thinking that my colleague Balbulican has been a bit harsh of late with his new phrase “moronosphere”. Boy was I wrong.
They keep trying, you have to hand it to them, those dastardly deniers. Their sycophants just eat it up too. This is one of the best lists of TV Weathermen, pseudo scientists, energy company money beneficiaries and others just plain misquoted. It’s not surprising considering the author of the report. He’s [...]
