Guess What Comes Next?

Budget officer warns of harder times ahead

Ottawa will be forced into tax hikes and spending cuts, watchdog says, to deal with persistent annual shortfall of $19-billion by 2013-14

Do you remember way back when the Stephen Harper said that his government would never run a deficit – now it’s close to $60 billion.

Do you remember when Harper said he would not raise taxes or cut spending to deal with the debt – do you still believe that?

I think he wanted to become Prime Minister in order that he could put the country into debt and prove his theory that government is bad and Canada’s government is even worse.

Same old story: These guys are the worst in government. Mike Harris redux.

he’ll certainly use it as justification to do what he always wanted to do – cut programs he doesn’t like, and gut the federal public service. Bastard!

Of course The CPoC will use it to cut programs they don’t like and, if you recall, Uncle Jim said some time ago that the recession and deficit might force the government to do things it might not otherwise want to do — which to my mind was a simple warning that taxes were going to go up

Remember that payroll tax increase – yup.

Or they’ll just further cut government services. You still think they care about Canada – they don’t.

Like any political party the CPoC is trying to make Canada and Canadians fit into the mold their particular world view determines “is good for the country and good for Canadians“.

It’s a difficult task given their minority position and they couldn’t do any of it without the help, support, and backing, of the Opposition could they?

So when Liberals and Dippers are busy assigning blame for what has/will/may take place……….
