And People Send Them Money…..

PETA wishes Obama hadn’t swatted that fly: Rights group seeks compassion for curious and ‘least sympathetic animals’

The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he’s bedeviled by a fly in the White House.

PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”

No comment necessary, the idea of live trapping house flies and releasing them into the wild it speaks for itself doesn’t it?

I can’t remember laughing as hard as last night with The Colbert Report’s special investigation into…(wait for it) Murder At The White House! Colbert had a jar full of flies, the family of the poor deceased, killed at the hands of the “flyswatter-in-chief”, who would be waiting in vain for papa to come home.

You gotta laugh because it’s just too ridiculous to be true.

Oh, btw, I missed a phone call that I later backtracked to a “605″ number in Virginia, and the offices of PETA. Maybe they heard me laughing?

    They are so right.

And, WTF is up with the rampant use of antibiotics. They kill bacteria! Millions and millions of helpless bacteria!

At my age – 94 last April – I am serenely beyond such things.

Of course, I meant P-E-T-A. And you have my sincere condolences.

Hopefully it was not a black fly.

Personally, I ruthlessly stalk and kill any MF fly that manages to get into my house. However if I see a spider, the bigger and the hairer the better, I gently pick it up and put it outside only because it would terrify my spouse and my adult daughter(who visits occasionally). They generally run screaming(I kid you not) for me to do my thing. Even when I explain their fear is irrational and that spiders are good creatures who eat those MF flies and that they outweigh the thing many countless times over, they still squeal in horror. There is no rationalizing with females.

“and the quadrillions of spermy lives cut short in their prime every day!!”

Exactly. At least someone shares my outrage.
