So Now You Know

Did you know that (apparently) Canadians are lacking in worldly experience? That we are, intellectually speaking I suppose, somewhat primitive? Indeed, did you know that as a whole we are apparently unenlightened?

It’s all true, and that abject naivety is the reason we shouldn’t be allowed to watch Al-Jazeera on cable — we are fundamentally just not bright enough to be exposed to that sort of thing.

According to Shimon Fogel (chief executive officer of the Canada-Israel Committee)

“Israelis have multiple sources of news and analysis that all focus on the same issues and the same level of intensity as Al-Jazeera, minus the distortion. Here in Canada, however, the audience is considerably more naive and lacks the capacity to view the broadcast in a critical way, or to seek alternative perspectives.”

So now ya know……..

Granted Fogel may be on to something when he mentions “Israelis have multiple sources of news and analysis that all focus on the same issues and the same level of intensity as Al-Jazeera” and here we are with but a handful of Canadian media conglomerates.

OTOH, we’ve obviously been bright enough to avoid being exposed daily to the ‘focus on the same issues and the same level of intensity’ from Fox News.

So I wonder what the reaction would be if I suggested Mr. Fogel was too dumb to know any better? Would I be labelled anti-something? Does that mean he is anti-Canadian?

    What a dumbass.
