BREAKING NEWS !!
Liberal Party of Canada leader Stephane Dion says his party will not, we repeat will not, bring the government down over the throne speech.
In other late breaking news, those parts of the word experiencing a cloudy day had a better chance of rain than those places under cloudless skies.

I keep seeing this idea pop up – can someone provide me with an actual precedent? In Canada? In the UK, whose parliament ours is (roughly) based on? Maybe in Australia?

The Liberals did not win the last election. Nor did the NDP or the Bloc. Suck it up already.
Alternatively, grow a pair and defeat the government and try to win the NEXT election.
