The Smell Of Historical Revisionism In The Morning

According to CFRA talk radio host Nick Vandergragt (who is looking after the 10:00 – 12:00 time slot this morning) the action in Iraq was not an invasion – it was (and apparently remains) a simple continuation of the UN sanctioned First Gulf War.

Sorry Nick, as original a piece of spin as that is the First Gulf War was a result of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait, it ended on February 28, 1991.

Spin it as you will but the current action in Iraq began March 20, 2003 and was predicated on sketchy claims of weapons of mass destruction (which have not been found), sketchier claims about yellow cake (which turned out to be a hoax), and even sketchier still claims of remote controlled airborne drones capable of spreading chemical and biological agents over God fearing, apple pie eating, Americans while they slept wrapped tightly in their red, white, and blue, star spangled quilts (which, when drones were found, were also found to be incapable of stable flight – let alone inter-continental flight).

These authoritarians want war because deep down they just want to kill nasty Mooslims and Arabs. They make up these lies in order to excuse this behaviour and convince themselves its ok.

Any thinking person should listen to this sort of revisionism and ask themselves about the agenda (and intelligence) of the one spouting it.

But just to be fair, lets see of it works for other things:

My lunch today is a continuation of Thanksgiving supper.

…. nope – it’s still a bowl of Campbells soup
