We in the bunker are humbled by the benevolence, nay benevolence is not a kind enough word….. the complete and absolute selflessness of our Prime Minister who, word has it, may prorogue Parliament, not out of any sort of scheming to hold power, but to allow us poor, beleaguered, Canadians, to ponder the ramifications of a “Bloc-supported NDP-Liberal coalition while they eat their Christmas dinners and/or get together for their holiday parties” – statesmanship of this nature is not often displayed now is it?

Stephen Harper (from the Opposition side) on Liberals delaying confidence votes
I think they are just signing their own death warrant. This is the kind of behaviour a government does when it is scared to death of the electorate.
When a government starts trying to cancel dissent or avoid assent is frankly when it’s rapidly losing its moral authority to govern.

Really now folks, is a three month investigation by the Gatineau Police, the Ottawa Police, and the Canada Border Services Agency into bawdy house related activities really what you would call an effective use of the public purse?

I gotta hand it to Harper, he played a darned good hand in the House today, a darned good hand indeed – I’d like to think that the Liberals have what it takes to call his bluff…. but I don’t think they do.

Here’s a little quiz for you. Would you say that tasering a fifteen year old girl, who is securely in confinement, in police custody, while she is guarded, handcuffed and lying on her stomach in a detention centre, could be characterized as “improper”?

I’m p*ssed folks, I am really (really) unhappy, I seriously doubt you can possibly imagine just exactly how p*ssed off I am that the nanny state Liberal Government of Ontario is actually contemplating sticking its’ sh*tty little fingers so far into my personal life they they tell me I can’t take my grandkids riding with me.
This is the one that could get me back into the voting booth folks, and, if they’re not supporting this piece of nanny state legislation that deems parents so f*cking irresponsible that they can’t be trusted to take their children riding with them, I’ll be casting a very, very, blue vote.

The first real snow of the winter is falling as I type this, it’s been snowing pretty well non stop since yesterday, and as much as I hate the idea I’m probably gonna have to bite the bullet and put the bike away for the winter. Until now I thought us bikers had the hardest time letting go, but apparently the divers have it even tougher.

Further to yesterdays Can We Get An Answer In The House post we discover in the November 25 Hansdard that Jim Flaherty thinks we’re either stupid enough that we can’t count – or partisan enough that we won’t.

Hon. John McCallum (Markham—Unionville, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, two months ago, the Prime Minister said that there would be no recession if the Conservatives were elected. He said that creating a deficit would be stupid—those were his own words. Now that the election is over, he is saying exactly the opposite. Canada will be in a Conservative recession and we will have a Conservative deficit.
In light of this double deception, how can Canadians believe a single word that comes out of the Conservative Prime Minister’s mouth?

I think you should know that if you don’t vote for Stageleft at the CBAs, he’s going to go postal and fly to your city and I won’t be responsible for what happens next.

Ye Moronosphere Militant declared out of the blue that the US had won the War in Iraq this weekend, apparently in the belief that if you howl and slobber something loudly enough, it becomes true.

I’m listening to [what is trying to pass for] discussion on assisted suicide – I say “trying to pass for” a discussion as CFRA’s listener ship is primarily URQ so the inevitable “thou shalt not” has been brought up a couple of times.
The best of the bunch being “God did not issue 10 suggestions, he issued 10 commandments” and one of them is “thou shalt not kill” – however that doesn’t include self-defense, and it doesn’t include war, and apparently it doesn’t include……
And about time, too.
