Update On African Press International
As loyal readers will recall, we had snarky fun earlier this week tracking down a story unearthed by the Canadian Sentinel. The recap in a nutshell: for some unexplained reason, Michelle Obama is alleged to have called a fake African “News” Agency owned by a fake “foundation” to berate them for being unfair in their coverage of her husband. It’s a complete scam, of course, but it’s fun to see how many brain-dead URQ bloggers have pounced on it.
What makes it fun is guessing about how far they can keep their fraud going. Initially they announced that they had a voice recording of Ms. Obama’s call. They were not releasing it because they had obtained it without informing her. Now they’ve revealed that they CAN release it, but will hold on to it just a little while longer while they decide how and to whom it should be released. This they intend to determine by asking their readers for suggestions.
And guess which network is the favourite nominee among the terrifyingly large number of people too stupid to recognize this for a transparent fraud?
You got it. Fox News, the favourite network of morons on EVERY continent.

The icing on this cake would be a discovered connection to the RNC but my bet is that it is just some stupid zealous rogue Republican blogger fool. However the Norway connection muddies my conclusion.
UPDATE: Some “correspondents” are now urging API not to release the tape because this is “obviously” a fraud BY THE OBAMA CAMP to discredit API and the Republicans.
Ionesco, Samuel Becket, John Le Carre and John Cleese working triple shifts couldn’t have come up with this one. Stay tuned.
Yeah, ok. It’s an reverse-double-flip sting on the part of the Obama camp. Yup Yup.
Having watched Obama apologize at a smallish rally/townhall thingy for saying “hell” instead of “heck” as there were children present, I have a hard time believing this wife would go off the deep end to a right wing blogger, sting or no sting. And why wouldn’t she call Little Green Footballs or any of the other, large rw bloggers?
Is it asking too much that some small bits of logic are applied before posting?
(The rhetorical question, of course, directed at CS, AFI/API whatever etc)
Everyone knows Michelle is a terrorist. This is how they do things.
Yeah, it would take, like, a million monkeys on a million typewriters working… oh yeah, URQ bloggers… yeah, a million URQ bloggers on a million typewriters…
Just wow… I think I need a does of Thorazine just reading that logic. Imagine the kind of psychoactive you’d need to calm the mind that came up with that…
Okay, add William Burroughs to that authors list.
Cool! Does that mean Joe the Pest Exterminator will be the next to get his 15 minutes?
Join the frickin’ line, JTPE.
