Oh Cry Me A River

Dear Stephen Harper:

Quit yer f’ing whining, you decided to have the election at this time so live with the consequences of it.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper wants to put off a hearing in his $3.5-million defamation suit against the Liberal party because it is scheduled for the middle of the federal election campaign.

Harper’s lawyers filed an emergency motion Friday asking Ontario Superior Court Justice Charles Hackland to consider the bid to adjourn the case during the campaign.

The lawyers argue that the election distracts Harper from the details of the suit he filed over an allegation that Conservatives attempted to bribe a sitting MP in 2005.

So lets get this straight…. Harper has decided that he wants to put the law suit that he filed against the Liberals on hold because he is now finding it a distraction to the election that he decided to call.

My advice to Mr. Harper is to suck it up and take personal responsibility for his personal decision, isn’t that sort of thing supposed to be one of the building blocks of conservatism?

If he didn’t think about this sort of thing before he made the personal decision to call the election it speaks volumes about his decision making abilities in general – and most certainly calls into question whether those abilities are up to the task of being Prime Minister.

Let’s get some facts here. What date did the law suit get filed? How many times has this lawsuit’s timeframe been pushed back and by what parties? How out of the ordinary is it for a lawsuit like this to postponed due to family, personal, or work issues?

How about we talk about the alleged lawsuit details as well?

I realize that you hate Harper, and that your political blog is has LEFT in it’s title, and that you claim to be an anarchist, but with all these concepts aside, I know that you would expect to be treated fairly if you were called a cry baby, and have some facts involved in that cry baby calling.

So, do some research and be a responsible non partisan anarchist blogger and present a few facts with your name calling.

Fucking anarchists. No sense of rules for fair play.

I think we call this chutzpah. Of course Harper figured this and a few other simmering scandals into his election calculations. Remember the story about the kid who killed both his parents and then threw himself on the mercy of the court as an orphan? Me, that’s how I read this.

    Vonrock,

The court date has been kicking around for a long time. It’s a new lawsuit and hasn’t been subject to delays. Indeed, when the filing was made to suppress the Harper recording, it was noted by many that it’s odd that Harper sought a date in the Fall when he was suspected to be calling an election.

So Stageleft has a valid point.

I note, Vonrock, that you have called for verification of facts, but haven’t provided any yourself.

    With a little editing, Mark Francis, I can see, from your own words what I think you mean;

So a valid point Vonrock, that you have provided.

The above quote is already being blasted via an oversized loud speaker on top of an old van at a campus near you. Who knows this quote will be used next!

But your are right, an election should not get in the way of our justice system.

Vonrock – I can’t speak for others, but I really cannot figure what you’re trying to say in that last post.

    Someone help.

Sorry Throbbin, it’s a coded message utilizing really heavy sarcasm with a vague reference to a reported incident involving the lawsuit, and perhaps an even more vague overall reference to the root of the lawsuit itself. Personally, I think it’s a brilliant reply and an excellent way to back out of the conversation without really agreeing with Mr. Francis (even though he’s right) while making a statement about the issue that is the basis for the lawsuit itself.

Ok. I can be a little daft sometimes.

Yo! Stevie! Where’s that personal accountability you’re always jabbering on about?
