RIP Albert Hofmann

The bunker, as a rule, is not very big on R.I.P. posts – but Albert Hofmann is gonna be an exception.

Albert Hofmann, the father of the mind-altering drug LSD whose medical discovery grew into a notorious “problem child,” died Tuesday. He was 102.

Hofmann’s discovery has been thoroughly demonized by conventional society but I can honestly say that I’ve only ever known one person who had a bad trip, and he didn’t follow the golden rule:

If you got any demons, don’t drop…..
’cause they will come out to play

I’m not gonna go any further with this one, it’s enough to say that it’s been a very long time, but back in the day……………….

I gotta say that as much as I have partied in my young life, I was never tempted to do LSD. I had ample opportunity, but I figured I was always having enough fun without it, so why bother?

It’s also like the father of the main character in “Knocked Up” said – “No pills, no powders. If it grows in the ground it’s probably ok.”

And look, its ruined me…I only have a univerisyt degree and a $100K+ job… the horror of drugs!
