OC Transpo seeks feds’ help to resolve clash with transit union
Negotiators for the City of Ottawa are seeking federal mediation after a significant disagreement arose a few days ago between the city and the transit workers’ union during contract talks, CBC News has learned.
André Cornellier, president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, said the problems arose after the city changed its mind about negotiating a contract with a length of three years.
I can see Ottawa trying to break the union, crying about commuter disruption and mayhem, and then running to the province just like Toronto did…. except maybe faster.
Me, I got a trusty old 10-speed, the bike paths are all melted out, and it’s nice weather for riding.
