Get your Free Speech Antidote…

Did you know, for example, that even a political finance shell scheme that some might consider fraud is actually an issue of free speech in Canada?  That bit of hack spin sounds like it came from the Conrad Black school of accounting.   Got scandal?  Insert “free speech”.

    Well, the easy way to counter that is what Impolitical pointed out here:

    In documents filed in Federal Court, where the Tories have mounted a case against the Chief Electoral Officer, the freedom of speech argument is not mentioned..Rather, the party insists that advertising claimed by local candidates benefited those candidates, and all was done in accordance with federal statutes.
