GoP presidential candidate John McCain admits “hundreds of thousands” of dead Iraqis, and “millions” of Iraqi refugees - is this enough to get Bush’s failed adventure closer to the centre of the election radar screen?
David Letterman: 4,000 American men and women soldiers dead since we went into Iraq. Another 30,000 wounded. Untold Iraqis dead. We rarely hear that number. What would that number be? A quarter of a million? Half a million?
John McCain: I think it’s hard to make these estimates but it’s in the hundreds of thousands, obviously, and millions more fled the country.
A very very tough and frustrating time indeed John - not for you of course, but for the families of the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, and the millions of Iraqi refugees it certainly is.
