I can smell it in the air, it’s been building since Saturday when the first real whiff of it could be found floating gently on the early morning breeze - and today the breeze tells me there’s no doubt about it, spring is here and we’ll soon be on the bikes and on the road…. indeed the Mudmen rendition and video of “Home for a Rest” has been rattling around in my head since I first stepped out the door this morning - so here it is for the rest of ya to enjoy.

And if you think I’m EVER going to click on another video link you provide after you bushwacked us with that Viking Death Metal Hair Band surprise…forget it.
I like your taste in music
Excellent version of the song! For energy, as well as the use of bagpipes (!) in contempory music, they’re right up there with Wicked Tinkers!
Environment Canada calls for below normal temperatures for the rest of March and April, as well as more chances for snow. I’m with Treehugger - get a snowmobile.. maybe by May you can start digging out up there :)
Pft…. Environment Canada? Who are you gonna trust Scott - a bunch of weather nerds with their fancy computers, weather balloons, wind current models, projections based on historical data, and other scientific mumbo-jumbo…. or someone who has actually gone outdoors, smelled the breeze, and seen the signs of the land reawakening?
Doubt if you will, but it is here.
I was hoping to melt the bike out of the ice by tomorrow, but if the snow keeps flying, I think I won’t mind leaving it be.
Pft, snow. I hate to say it, but i’ve already put 200k on the duc this month.
Is not. It’s -21 with the wind chill in Ottawa even as we speak. I hate winter.
Winter? This ain’t winter, trust me, I’ve seen winter and it didn’t look anything like this. The sun is shining and the snow is melting LuLu, I was just out on the balcony and saw it with my very own two peepers, why the buds on the tree outside my balcony are bigger than they were two days ago.
And the sun, can you not feel the sun through your window? It’s warm, it has heat…..buck up, it’s here I tell you.

Spring….pfft. Who are you kidding? There is still snow on the ground….in Toronto and the only thing I can smell is cold air in my nostrils. Give up on the bike dreams and buy a snow machine.
