Genesis 19:24-28: (24) Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; (25) And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. (28) And he [Abraham] looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

Trust No One, They Look Just Like Us
Subtitled: Time To Be Afraid Again - There’s An Election Coming
CIA head Michael Hayden says Al Qaeda is training fighters who have a ‘Western’ appearance and would be more likely to be able to penetrate US borders to mount terrorist attacks.
America Loves Their Game
Their president — not so much.
Poor George, booed (loudly even) while throwing the 2008 inaugural pitch at the new Washington Nationals stadium - video below the fold.
Show Me The Money
Or at the very least a decent picture of something happening.
The anti-seal hunt wacko activist group Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is claiming that a Canadian Coast Guard ship “rammed” their ship the Farley Mowat yesterday and have an image of the supposed event up on their site as (I guess) supposed proof that it happened.
Oh The Horror
‘Cause that sh*t is so much worse than this sh*t
Remember What Days It Is!
Courtesy of Canadian Cynic, lefty/progressive/whatever-we-are bloggers are today celebrating two brand new holidays: “Be Polite to People With Whom You Disagree Ideologically” Day, and “Refrain From Scraping Your Genitals Across A Cheese Grater Day”.
Haditha: Nothing To See Here, Move Along
Nothing happened, these 24 women and children cowering in a bedroom probably “cleared” themselves, move along, the official record will show that nothing happened here.
They’ve Always Wanted Us
While scooting through the InterTubes this afternoon I came across a link to tonights CBC movie “Trojan Horse” over at Woman at Mile 0.
It reminded me of a post I did a few years ago referencing Article 11 of the US Articles of Confederation which reads like this…..
Clowns, Prometheus, and Satan: Sunday Musing
Clowns - all of them, in all their iterations- carry the same message. It’s a simple one, powerful, and deeply true.
Clowns say: we all exist within an eggshell-thin shack of “order”, a tiny shelter that we have built between ourselves and chaos. That shell is a fragile construct that we maintain by a collective consensus; what lies beyond is a huge, gaping void. Now watch - because I am going to poke holes in that shell.
Climate Change Deniers Band Together For Earth Hour
Vow to pollute and spend as much money as possible to teach them poor Gaia loving hippies a lesson they’ll never forget.
While potentially hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of Canadians will turn off their lights and unnecessary appliances for an hour tonight at 8:00PM a small but dedicated band of fundamentalist Canadian Conservative (and conservative) climate change deniers will be out doing far more than just ignoring a phenomena they do not agree with. This group of committed individuals has dedicated itself to the process of wasting as much gas as they can, creating as much pollution as they can, and running their personal hydro bills up as high as they possibly can, in order to show people how completely unreasonable and deluded those participating in Earth Hour are.
Update: Making Sense With Nicholls: North Korea (again)
Update: Fuschi’s Canadian Forum: Won’t someone think of the things that will not be done!!
Update: The Spirit Of Man: North Korea (again)… but showing original though there is also talk of “Green-voting-tree-hugging-liberals” apparently wanting to live in caves.
Update: Stephen Harper: he was probably working, at his house and the office…. he’s just that busy.
The Blistered Seat of Government
In which the Bunker turns to los Indios of Chiapas for a novel new approach to government that would certainly make for improved political leadership AND great television.

The State Department has advised all personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad that progress in Iraq is now so profound that they may not leave reinforced structures due to incoming insurgent rocket fire that has only killed two American government workers this week.
Belief Is Great, Unless It Makes You Stupid
Then you’re just a stupid believer
An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday.
Larry’s Penis is Doing Fine
For some reason, someone named “Larry” saw fit to write to us here at the Bunker, to share some pretty embarrassing personal information.
This is going to sound weird but I was never really embarrassed of my penis size in front of my wife. However, I always wished that I was bigger and I was […]
