A Traditional Valentine
Among many cultures, the seat of human emotion was believed to be the liver, not the heart. There was a certain logic to this, as livers regenerate to a degree when wounded, whereas hearts don’t (as many of us can sadly attest). The heart is a relative newcomer to its role as emblem of love: the source of tender feelings was also previously held by various peoples to be the spleen, the stomach, the kidneys, and the pineal gland.
We at the Bunker, despite our occasional appearance of radicalism, have always loved tradition…we therefore wish you all a happy Valentine’s day, from the bottom of our livers.

My liver probably won’t be speaking to me after tonight …
Awwwww.
I know, ain’t we just the hopeless romantics?
