Death and Darkness in Gaza, People are dying, Help us!
A humanitarian crisis is underway as the Gaza Strip’s only power plant began to shut down on Sunday, and the tiny coastal territory entered its third full day without shipments of vital food and fuel supplies due to Israel’s punitive sanctions.
The Gaza Strip’s power plant has completely shut down on Sunday because it no longer has the fuel needed to keep running. One of the plant’s two electricity-generating turbines had already shut down by noon.
This will drastically reduce output to 25 or 30 megawatts, down from the 65 megawatts the plant produces under normal conditions. By Sunday evening the plant will shut down completely, leaving large swaths of the Gaza Strip in darkness.
Three days ago Israel completely sealed the Gaza border
Israel has ordered the closure of all crossings into the Gaza Strip. The border had already been heavily restricted, but now all goods have been blocked including humanitarian supplies from the United Nations. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees condemned the move, saying it will only worsen an already dire situation.
Israel claims it is trying to thwart rocket attacks on the nearby Israeli town of Sderot. The closure comes as Tel Aviv continues daily attacks on Gaza that have killed more than 32 Palestinians in the past week, including 19 on Tuesday alone. One Palestinian was killed and four others were wounded Friday in an airstrike in north Gaza.
(emphasis mine)
Today the Israeli government let 50 truckloads of humanitarian aid through. How compassionate, people are cold and in the dark, medical services are on the edge, and shit is running down the streets because the state of Israel has once again chosen collective punishment of innocents….. and Israel allows a whole 50 truckloads of humanitarian aid into a population of 1.5 million people.
Hamas kills innocent Israeli men, women, and children, with rockets, and the Israeli government in return kills innocent Palistenian men, women, and children, and forces others to live in pools of raw sewage - quite the civilized pair ain’t they?
If I was a religious man I’d be looking for another God - because sharing deity with either of those two, or their respective supporters, would foul the experience.
