He’s Delusional

President Bush yesterday offered his strongest support of embattled Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, saying the general “hasn’t crossed the line” and “truly is somebody who believes in democracy.”

Judiciary imprisoned: Ousted judge of Pakistan
MUSHARRAF BLOCKS APPEALS AGAINST STATE OF EMERGENCY
Pakistan’s ruler, desperate to remain in power, gives short shrift to democracy
Hope fades for the “disappeared” under emergency rule

So where is his line?

In response to the situation in Pakistan Canada’s Prime Minister had his staff photoshop another silly image of Stephan Dion onto the Conservative Party of Canada website.

A wise man once told me “You don’t blame the government, you blame the people who voted for the government.”

The Conservatives (or any governing party) only get away with doing nothing because the populace lets them.

So the question IMHO is why does society not care? Why are we so apathetic?

GWB is just easily distracted by all the shiny medals Pervez gave himself.

Actually, no, that’s not true – Why do you insist on aligning Harper with Bush all the time?

Bush’s remarks are clearly idiotic, but they are NOT reflected in Canada’s stand with the Commonwealth on suspending Pakistan. I get that you don’t like either Bush or Harper, but at least keep your criticisms factually correct, okay?

The only connection here is the fact that their names both appear in the post.

Bush is a simpleton, the quote (and related links), I hope, proved that.

I could find no news article at the time where Harper had taken a clear and definitive stand on Pakistan, one news article I did find said that his government was soft pedaling on the issue.

…. I did note a new photoshop image of Dion on the Conservative Party website.

Harper was doing less than wimbling, I hope my comments proved that.

Please note my earlier post on the Saudi issue where I said the same thing.

Dd you know that the front page of the Conservative Party website contains one stoned looking red-head, 3 images of Harper, and (as of 7:53 EST) 6 images of Dion… that may well qualify as a fixation.

You need to differentiate between Stephen Harper, leader of the Conservative Party, and Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, because he and others appear quite capable of doing so. I doubt if you will find ANYTHING on the conservative site about Pakistan, and why should you? Likely, you won’t find anything on the Liberal or NDP sites, either.

What MATTERS is what the GOVERNMENT OF CANADA’s stand is, which, I grant you, appeared sometime after you posted this (whether >or< 24 hours I don’t know, but what stopped you from updating the post, as you have asked me in the past?).

That, and maybe get over your own fixation on the conservative.ca website. Sheesh, I’m a supporter and visit it MAYBE once a quarter.

For the record, I have no idea what’s up with the stoned-looking redhead on the conservative site. They’d be better off using a picture of Michael J. Fox as Alexander B. Keaton IMHO.
