Pritchard has said he wants it back so he can post it on YouTube and make it public.

The RCMP are calling it “evidence.” They don’t want its contents revealed until the trial, if there is one. And that’s why they’re refusing to give him even a copy.

They gave him back a new tape. I think they think that should be the end of the matter.

Yeah, he should have waited until he had a copy made and given that to the police.

And exactly why should the video not be available to the public? If the RCMP acted appropriately and did nothing wrong what do they have to fear?

Prichard was told by the RCMP that he would have the memory stick, not a memory stick, returned to him within 48 hours - he was lied to.

“Why” is the appropriate question to ask.

Given the event, the circumstances, and who he was dealing with, the smarter thing would have been to go home, copy the video, give the copy to the authorities, and keep the original for himself.

This is another one of those things that proves why we should not blindly trust the authorities - as I said earlier, hopefully others will learn from his mistake.
