… but by my calculations Samhain begins on November 9th this year.
When George Fain visits a grave on Thursday to mark a pagan holiday, she won’t have to worry about the work she’s missing in her classes at Marshall University in Huntington.
That’s because her absence on the Samhain holiday has been approved by the school, which for the first time is recognizing pagan students’ desire to be excused from class for religious holidays and festivals.

It seems like common sense to allow for these kinds of holidays. If you want to be a heathen, then by god you have the right to be a heathen!
SL - do you ever request time off for your religious holidays from your place of employment? You should try - what’s the worst that could happen?
