Police determined that an unclaimed object that prompted the brief isolation of an Alaska Airlines plane carrying 104 passengers and five crew members today at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was harmless, an airport spokeswoman said.
You know, all this paranoia makes public mischief so tempting. And so easy!
I’ve had the same thought – I have seen a city block shut down and a building evacuated because of a dropped PDA as well as the bomb squad called out to blow up a forgotten gym bag…. any number of useless things from that remote control that doesn’t quite work any more to an old cell phone now has the potential to make the news.
One more example of the hysteria that is the legacy of 9/11.
The terrorists have won and they keep winning day in and day out – thanks to our complete surrender into irrational fear.
