DVD Cover Review LEAST Likely to Inspire Me To Rent a Film:

“Quite possibly the BEST movie based on a video game I have seen.”

(from the cover of DOA: Dead or Alive)

From the Composer Formerly Known as Cyrillic Squiggle…

“We’ve noticed that customers who have purchased or rated Prince: Sign O The Times – Live have also purchased Prince Igor, the 1959 production of Alexander Borodin’s famed opera, filmed on location in Russia, on DVD.”

Dead or Alive is actually a really fun game. The movie might be good.

Dude, the day I rent a movie because someone has called it “quite possibly the BEST movie based on a video game I have seen” is the day I move lock, stock and barrel into Castle Wolfenstein.

Whooee! I’m with Balbu. I’m more fer movies based on comic books like Merkan Splendor an’ Sin City an’ Catwoman. I reckon we’re maybe a coupla dinosaurs, though. I couldn’t watch any news yesterday without hearin’ about the Halo 3 release. Even the dang BBC ran the story.

What about movies based on video games that are based on comic books that are based on pulp novels that are based on literary classics that are based on folk tales that are based on prehistoric cave paintings? A movie like that’d have some pedigree, sez I.

But Balb, what is wrong with watching a movie based on a video game?

Admittedly, the movies made to date based on video games are usually sub-par considering the budgets poured into them. But, if a Halo movie came out, I imagine it would be fantastic considering Halo’s top-notch storyline.

The first Mortal Kombat movie was pretty good too, as a sci-fi kung-fu blend.
