Dumber Than A Bag Of Hammers

The gates are down and the lights are flashing but the train ain’t coming, an intellect rivaled only by garden tools, would lose a debate with a doorknob, the wheel is spinning but the hamster’s gone, if you gave them a penny for his thoughts you’d get change, all the Mandelas are dead says he.

I’m embarrassed on their behalf, truly I am, “Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas”? …..for a president known for saying stupid things, this one just may top the charts.

I have no doubt in the world that Saddam Hussein would have killed or disappeared anyone even remotely like Nelson Mandela, but what do you suppose would happen if someone of Mandela’s stature, drive, and intellect, stood up in Iraq on this very day?

Someone who was willing to stand against the established order, stand against those who are profiting from the current regime, and stand against the American immunity that regime has sanctioned…. a person with such vision, and such credibility, that s/he became a rallying point for the oppressed, the down trodden, and the displaced, of Iraq?

Someone who the international community would back to the hilt and demand that they be listened to?

I’ll tell you what would happen – if s/he wasn’t shot outright by coalition backed forces they’d very quickly find themselves labeled as an insurgent and/or a destabilizing influence, tossed into a prison and buried so deep, and so far away, that no one would ever hear from them again.

I have no doubt that there are more than a few Mandela’s in Iraq, I have no doubts that some of them are already in that prison I mentioned earlier, and it’s probably safe to say that the ones that are left are smart enough to know when to keep their head down – because as long as the Americans are in Iraq they have no hope of accomplishing anything.
