He’s Not The Only One In Denial

The Iraqi publication Azzaman is reporting that

The government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is in total denial about the daily killings, the uprooting of millions of Iraqis, the impoverishment of almost the whole country and even the imminent imploding of a whole nation.

al-Maliki joins Bush who believes that America is “kicking ass” in Iraq.

This despite daily killings of civilians, destroyed infrastructure, millions of homeless, millions of refugees, millions more cripples, orphans, and widows, and 6 hours of electricity a day in (today) +43 (109 Fahrenheit) degree weather with limited water.

Proof positive that in this day and age, success and progress mean what you want them to mean.

UPDATE: The Young Turks discuss what life on the ground is really like.

Proof again that “denial” = “spin” … or vice et versa.
