How I Spent My Day

I’m a NASCAR dad — and I’m posting pictures because I have friends who get a chuckle out of some of my [apparently] non-leftie habits and hobbies.

For some reason a lot of folks don’t think of people like me as being NASCAR dads, I’m not sure how it happened but somewhere along the way that phrase gained conservative political connotations. I really don’t care if the conservative set co-opted the phrase, or the liberal set gave it to them…. either way, I’m taking it back.

From this day forward NASCAR dad has no political connotation what-so ever, so spread the word.

To make things really clear I like watching NASCAR, monster trucks, swamp buggies, have paid to see professional wrestling, and today I spent the afternoon watching pro dirt bike racing.

That’s right, a full afternoon of speed, screaming engines, screaming fans, blue exhaust, flying rocks, banging in the corners, high flying, professional moto-x…. how does a hot summer afternoon get better than that?

No shame in that, man. I happen to think watching a smash-up derby live is a grand old way to spend an afternoon. Especially when one of the cars is painted like the General Lee and the horn plays the Dukes of Hazard them song.
