How Surprised Would You Be …..

….. to find out that the Canadian military spies on Canadians who speak out against the war?

Around The Blogosphere

Posting has been light of late, a combination of nice weather, open roads, and a tennis elbow flareup – here’s a few gems from other blogs worth having a look at.

They Just Never Learn

Like the meddling neighbour down the street the US is apparently once again trying to make things right, and like that meddling neighbour, all they accomplish is to create more problems.

Let’s See…..

Where did we go today.

Open Trackback Sunday (The “How Petty Can They Be” Edition)

Send a trackback, leave a comment, and ask yourself, based on the great success of the law in question, if this isn’t one of the most petty actions they’ve yet to take.

Cowards?

Aside from John McCain, Ron Paul, and Tommy Thompson it appears that the Republican presidential candidates are already afraid to face the American public.

It Begins So Simply

Were the bunker not a fan of the Daily Show we, nor probably you, would know that New Zealand politicians, upset at being seen as lazy and offensive, have banned journalistic satire as well as coverage that ridicules or denigrates them.

No Warming Here – Move Along

The High Arctic lowlands of Eureka Sound on Ellesmere Island are melting.

But If He Did Would Anyone Believe Him?

KT McFarland over at the Washington Times has a bit of advice for Bush, instead of going on vacation, go on the road – but even if he did what percentage of the people would believe what he said?

We Have Power and Influence?

How come nobody told me?

The One They Didn’t Ask

CNN is quite pleased with itself over the YouTube debates, and it was a good format. Average, ordinary, people, asking real questions, about their real life and personal situation is a refreshing change from what usually gets broadcast. My question is, why didn’t they use the top video on their “Community Counts” voting site?

Thank You, Not With My Tax Dollar

If Ontario’s religious and spiritual parents are too friggen lazy to teach their kids about their religion at home or get them into the church, the synagogue, the temple, the mosque, the grove, the circle, or that empty meadow or mountain top where the faithful gather, they have no business expecting the government to take on that task for them.

Still Yammering About That Legacy

It really confounds me why people are worried about Bush not having a legacy – he’s got one, he’s the greatest failure the American people have ever elected to their highest office (twice).

60% Of Americans Disagree With Bush

That’s a pretty darned hefty number isn’t it, and the idea that that many people would rather their congress have a say in when the US pulls out of Iraq than leaving it to Bush has just gotta have more than a few GoP knickers tied in knots.

Dr. Gail Guthrie Valaskakis, 1939-2007

I learned this morning to my sorrow that that Gail Valaskakis, a friend and a founder of Aboriginal broadcasting in Canada. died last week of cancer.
