Is It A Plague Upon Our Houses?

Nearly eradicated in the United States 50 years ago, resistant strains of “super” bedbugs are infesting mattresses at an alarming rate. In what’s being touted as the biggest mystery in entomology, all 50 states are reporting outbreaks of the blood-sucking nocturnal critters.

Apparently they are starting to make a comeback in Canada as well, not to the degree of being news worthy, but here none the less.

Sorry about that
. I watched a couple of documentaries this week-end about the end times and the life and times of Jesus, and while bedbugs are anything but humourous I couldn’t get that biblical type title out of my head without making this post.

    Good night, sleep tight,
    Don’t let the bedbugs bite.
If they do, take your shoe,
And beat them ’till they’re black and blue.

That’s actually a terrific article. Thanks very much, SL.

    Vancouver is lousy with ‘em.
I feel like we’re just biding time. 4 other houses on our block got them recently. They’re coming for us.

So much for a relaxing read before bed! I’m all itchy now.
