Dear Blog-O-Sphere

Snap links are annoying, intrusive, and really offer absolutely nothing of interest. I don’t need to see a thumbnail of what a page will look like if I follow a link, I don’t even want to know if it means that some daft pop-up is going to cover up your content, you know, the stuff you wrote for me to read……. what matters (unless it’s got a really [really] ugly multicoloured background and I can’t read the text) is the content, and that’s all that matters.

Who thought this was a good idea?
Why do people like it?
And why did I have to spend time looking for how to disable them so they vexed me no more?

Thank you very much for writing this. Ghods, I hate snap. If I wanted to load the website, I’d load the website. If I move the mouse over I just want to see were it goes.

    Cheers,

Hell yeah! Thanks for putting words to the frustration. Snap links are a dumb gimmick that really don’t do anything useful.

I’m fully capable of reading a Url in the status bar to see where I’m going, as well as any “title” text the author may have inserted in their hyperlink.

Eye candy like snap links does nothing for me, and it bloats the web page.

Whooee! When I first seen ‘em, I thought they was sorta cool. Now, I think they’re annoyin’ an’ about as useful as a tuxedo on a catfish.

Good golly I agree. Now if only someone would tell saskatchewan.ca that they aren’t supposed to autoplay music like our province is some kind of damned MySpace page!
