Political Irony

– that America and it’s government applaud the execution of a man for crimes committed when he was their friend and ally in the region.

Additional political irony is that the genocide crimes that “Hitler revisited” (as George the 1st once described him) and others are currently charged with were also committed when he was their friend and ally in the region.

Many seem to find it expedient to forget that at the time Rumsfeld, under the Reagan administration, helped fast track Iraq into the ‘fold of the few’ in the region eligible for US weapons and technology – the same weapons and technology used in the gassing the Kurds that Hussein is being tried for.
