Talk abounds of when and where Saddam Hussein will feel the floor drop out from under him and the noose tighten around his neck… I even saw a fairly in depth discussion on the process of hanging on CNN the other night, including the reason why there is a hood over the persons head.
One of the other discussion points is how Hussein being hung will help quell sectarian violence, that it will essentially humiliate and demoralize his supporters enough to take the wind out of their sails and throw their rifles aside. This sort of thinking leads the bunker to drag out the poll code and see what people think. Is Saddam Hussein a rallying point for insurgents? Will the violence, to any significant degree, die down after he takes his last breath? |
Feel free to toss in a few reasons about why you think the way you do in the comments section.

I have a hard time believing that ANYBODY would be rallying around Hussein - mind you, I’m not an Iraqi, so what do I know? I guess, though, that the thousands of families that lost members to his regime will be satisfied, particularly the Kurds.
