Personally I’m not sure what all the flap is about with Harper discussing the Québécois as a nation within Canada - it makes perfect sense to the bunker, what doesn’t make sense is things like radio 640AM in Toronto saying things like
Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe seems to think a Stephen Harper proposal on Quebec nationhood is insulting.
(emphasis mine)
Harper said nothing at all about the nation of Quebec, Canada.com got it wrong as well
Liberal leadership hopeful Bob Rae today gave a cool reception to Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s bombshell motion to recognize Quebec as a nation within a united Canada.
(emphasis mine)
Quebec as a nation within Canada? Harper said nothing of the sort…. but just in case talking like that has some potential spin-off, and because I heard people using the phrase ‘the CFRA nation” while listening to the Lowell Green show, and because uber (Right)WingNut Michael Savage has “The Savage Nation“, a hastily convened meeting of the bunker resulted in “Stageleft:. The Nation”
The general consensus was that our idea of forming a community was simply too small, after all, “Working Towards Benovelent Global Domination One Community Member At A Time” could take a very long while — and none of us is getting any younger, so we jumped right into the nation gig.
Friend Crow, who I share an office with, overheard the discussions and decided that he wanted his own nation as well, he’s got some experience in these things, so he declared nationhood as well.
The building people put down a “creative design” area between our two work spaces when they took out the wall and had to patch the carpet - we have, until today, referred to it as “the burgundy blot”, now it forms the DMZ between our two nations. Until this point we didn’t allow people to stand, or walk, on it but we’ve since decided that they can do either, provided they are wearing appropriate blue berets when doing so.
A memo has been sent from the bunker to Mr. Harpers Minister of Internal Affairs noting our new standing within the Confederation and seeking to open dialog with that office regarding Canada’s inevitable joining of Stageleft:. The Nation.
Further developments will be outlined here, Stageleft:. The Nation is a free and open society, if anything is unclear please feel free to ask about it in the comments section.

Throbbin, it is absolutely against the best interest of the citizen of Crow to clearly answer your question. Why close doors and burn bridges when being vague works so well?
Hahaha, awesome.
THE questions remains, however, regarding whether you and Crow constitute distinct “nations”, “nations within Canada”, or “nations within Canada for the time being”.
