I wonder if the average Dutch citizen is at all concerned that their cabinet is populated by cowards? There’s really no other way that a recent proposal to ban “clothing that covers the face in public” can be seen in any other light.
If they had any balls they’d simply come out and say what they mean, it goes like this:
Listen, we don’t like those Muslim foreigner types so what we’re gonna do is make wearing the burqa in public illegal and see how many of them we can get rid of, or prevent from moving here.
It a win/win situation, if the womenfolk can’t wear the burqa they won’t want to move here, which means their menfolk won’t move here either, which means no families, and, at the very least, if they can’t go out in public without one on we won’t have to look at them.
The day the first democratic country passes laws like this will be a sad day for the true freedom loving countries of the world, and all democracies will be tarnished by it’s passing.

I suppose it won’t come as any surprise to you that I support this move.
It’s also a very long overdue measure for a religion has long overstepped it’s boundaries in Holland. They have a history of problems with radicalism and isolationist communities there. It’s the reason for recent rise in Nationalist parties and policies.
For every cause there is effect. This isn’t about “not liking those Muslim foreigner types”. That’s too simplistic.
