Another One Bites The Dust

Maybe they won’t have to be beaten in the next election, what with kicking MPs out of the party, and their fund raisers quitting over policy decisions, they’ll just fade away.

Sean Ahern helped organize a $500-a-plate brunch last Sunday to raise money for the Conservatives in the Montreal constituency of Westmount–Ville-Marie where he was riding association president.

Yesterday, in response to the government’s decision to tax income trusts, he tore up his party membership.

In your dreams. Bets on the CPC once again thrashing the Liberal & NDP parties in fundraising this quarter? And the next?

Their core is Jane & Joe Lunchbox, who maybe have RRSPs and mutual funds, but not much cash for investing in income trusts.

I have no doubt that the majority of their base, exactly like any other political party, is Jane & Joe lunch box Candace; and in less than a year Joe and Jane CPoC have discovered that the party of openness, accountability, and kept promises is not so open, not so accountable, and doesn’t keep it’s promises any better than any other party – reality bites, but there it is, laid out on the table in front of them.

With luck that will result in less people buying into the flawed process we call “the party system” and see them opt out of it.

Wow SL – you are feeling really anarchistic this weekend aren’t you?

While I am inspired by your prediction of fast-fading CPoC support, I once again have to suggest that there ARE major differences between the parties.

Micheal Ignatieff called me, and asked me to ask you to tone down the anarchy talk. Not good for Liberal business and all.

Ignatieff is part of the problem, if he calls again tell him I said so, then ask him not to call again.
