I was just saying the other day how much I liked the fact that Canadian politicians do things like go on “This Hour has 22 minutes” - and PM Martin on “Corner Gas” - making fun of themselves. Even Harper, whose kids played hockey in the foyer with Rick Mercer in his pyjamas. I mean, c’mon. That’s comedy gold.

I think the humour part is pretty key. AND I’m pretty sure that Limbaugh can’t tell a joke to save his life.

Also? There’s a chick staring at me from beside the box requesting my name. I think she’s giving me a come hither look. But beside her, I’m offered the chance to find my ideal love match in India. W00T!

Not a great joke, not well told. I think it’s being deliberately misinterpreted by an increasingly desperate mock-indignation crowd watching the approach of the November elections in rising panic.

Kerry’s ‘misunderstood joke’ was another low point in the campaign, I think I know what he was trying to get across but his delivery was pathetic.

We’ve heard the last out of Kerry until November 8th, he’ll be in hiding somewhere that the reporters can’t find him [probably some golf course in a warm country where winter is something other people do] and that moment of stupidity may be the end of any hopes he might still entertain about climbing the political ladder.

I don’t think he did either, no more than I think House Majority Leader John Boehner really meant to hang the failure in Iraq on the generals when he was defending Rummy - but the Dems are jumping all over that one with glee.
