Conservative Bloggers In The News

Solidly behind their leadership some of the Blogging Tories are getting their names in the papers, I suppose they’re quite pleased with themselves and their related traffic spikes, but more reasonable bloggers would probably be red faced with shame at having that sort of thing splashed around the country.

“Peter MacKay should be ashamed: dogs deserve better,” said Dispatches from the Socialist Gulag, one site linked to by the official Blogging Tories website.

The Politic.com, another blog listed on the Tory blogs site, said: “MacKay should apologize . . . to his dog.”

ThePolitic followed up with

Who cares what Canadian Press says about us? As long as they spell our name correctly.

– that’s letting the masses know what your agenda is ‘eh?

Admittedly it was a quick look through the member roles, but I didn;t see a whole lot of Blogging Tory sites who seemed to have a great deal of difficulity with their membership playing Jerry Springer on the web — and you know what it must mean if the moderate Tories are not speaking up about this………

Actually, some of us have. Andrew from BBG as you know, and after the Garth Turner ejection I removed the blogroll from my site in protest. As I said in my post on the subject, I’m still right of center, but refuse to be a party apologist. Also as I’m fond of pointing out, on the address bar at the bottom when you enter my site, it says “if you believe everything your party promises you aren’t thinking objectively”. I’ve also said on many sites such as Stephen Taylor that we as Conservatives spent the last 13 years criticising others for being Liberal apologists and many are now falling into the same catagory.

    Me? I prefer responsible government myself……it’s Eutopian, I know…..

Repeating: In the story “Pro-Tory blogs support MacKay, dismiss Stronach” there is a quote:

“in recent weeks, the sites have run the same media talking points as those issued by senior officials in government. ”

However in fact, the BT website has been running CPoC direct webcasts from the CPoC for almost the last two years.

DazzlinDino, sounds like you’re a bit more red than blue.

Regardless of the BT’s, I strongly agree with the Tory reaction. Belimbo Stronach deserves every last word. Hopefully she can coerced into a sense of shame over her conduct during the past…. say, how old is she again?

So, let’s see if I get this bit of doublespeak right – Belinda crossing the floor was something she should be ashamed of, but David Emerson made a “principled stand” when he crossed the floor? Is that it? Or are you trying to refer elliptically to her love life?

BTW – coercion through bullying doesn’t usually work all that well.
