2% (more accurately 2.44%) is the percentage of the Iraqi population that does not exist anymore as a result of the US led invasion.

In an update of a two-year-old survey that sparked wide disagreement, Johns Hopkins researchers now estimate that more than a half-million Iraqis have died as a result of the U.S.-led invasion and its bloody aftermath.

Reporting this week in the online edition of The Lancet, a leading British medical journal, the researchers estimated that 654,000 more Iraqis died of various causes after the invasion than would have died in a comparable period before.

The scientists attributed 600,000 of those deaths to acts of violence.

Add to that the untold tens of thousands of Iraqi people who have been maimed, disabled, or made orphan or widow(er), and then compare that to the 0.0009683% of the American population killed in the 2001 WTC attacks and I’d say they’ve more than got their pound of flesh — it’s time to leave before they do any more damage than they already have, and hope, that at some point, the mess they have created and bear ultimate responsibility for, manages to sort itself out.
