President Bush said Friday critics who claim the Iraq War has made America less safe embrace “the enemy’s propaganda.”

If Stephen Harper and Rick Hillier were smart, they’d get the message across to Bush that his insanity is not helping. People are tired of being treated as if they’re stupid.
But if you are stupid, then maybe this is exactly what you want to hear…especially in the run up to midterms.
He’s correct, of course. Tell me: What is the difference between claiming Iraq will make us less safe vs Osama warning us to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan or there will be consequences. One naturally follows the other and the left is following the terrorists warnings to a tee. Not the best way to win a war in my opinion….
I initially took Jeff’s comment as agreement with Throbbin’s supposition. On re-reading it, I see I wasn’t mistaken.
There is no “claim” that Iraq will make America less safe, there are some pretty compelling indicators that US military action has (for a multitude of reasons discussed both here and elsewhere) inflamed anti-US issues, and increased the number of terrorists willing to attack Americans and America….. or do you really think that those 16 intelligence agencies really have embraced terrorist propaganda?
Iraq was a poorly planned, poorly executed, exceedingly flawed, piece of American foreign policy, the consequences of which started coming home to roost almost immediately.
Yeah, it would appear so. And Jeff’s follow up to my comment is proof positive that the stupid are embracing this little propaganda stint by the Bushministration as gospel.
I’m surprised after over three years of failure, that this works on anyone anymore.
They should really face the fact that they’ve blown it and let the smart people take over. We know how to deal with crime and terrorism while respecting civil rights and the rule of law, after all. The wingnuts are just deluded fascists who can’t grasp reality. Poor dears. Let’s intern them.
Whooee! Sorry fer not droppin’ in much the past coupla weeks, StageFeller. I been off on a fact-findin’ mission out in BC. Ma an’ I done some whale watchin’ an’ I watched a few purty gals walkin’ ’round Vancouver.
I seen that, too, where the Bushman sez anybuddy don’t see things his way done bought inta the enemy’s BS when it was 16 o’ their own intel outfits who was doin’ the sayin’. What I wonder is howcum the head fellers an’ gals in them there agencies ain’t raisin’ holy hell ’bout Dubya sayin’ they’re stoopid.
The whole ding-dong debacle was chalked up t’ “bad intelligence.” Now, they got 16 intel outfits all sayin’ the selfsame thing an’ we’re s’posed believe it’s more bad intel. I reckon the Merkins could save themselves a whole lot o’ tax dough if they’d jest get rid o’ them 16 agencies. If they either give bad intel or they get ignored, why spend the billions t’ keep ‘em in bizness?

I dunno Ti-G, I think most of the non-administration wingnuts would like being turned into White House interns, especially after the Foley Follies this week.
(sorry)
Innappropriate! ;)
