Let’s not forget the Googlexics(tm) — people like net.kooks TeeWee and Lambourn in can.politics — who repeatedly make absurd claims and trot out ridiculous lies that could be refuted in seconds by pretty well any 14-year-old with a Google toolbar.

The kooks could EASILY check whatever it is they are saying before hitting the [SEND] button, but they are either too drunk, too lazy or too intoxicated with ideology to do so.

(The classic example was Lambourn claiming that international investors were bypassing Canada because the country was “too socialist.” He dropped this little turd THE VERY SAME WEEK that several big Wall Street investment banks issued advisories recommending that clients add more Canadian equities to their international portfolios.)

I think these net.morons are so used to arguing with other drunks down at the local legion bar that they just don’t understand the basic reality of online discussion: every one of your critics is just a couple of mouseclicks away from the world’s most powerful fact-checking engine.

These idiots have been embarrassing themselves (and the Conservative Party) for years and years now — perhaps Canada’s liquor industry should mount an advertising campaign build around the theme:

I must say I think that one’s better than Googlectual, which has it’s charms, but doesn’t go after pretension in quite the same way.
