1/ I’m surprised they didn’t continue with the charges of murder, since the man was reported as confessing and that certainly has put people in US prisons, despite complete lack of and even contradictory evidence. So, it’s like, wow, a small scrap of sanity prevailed when accusing people of heinous crimes. I was honestly surprised they dropped the case, but I guess one can blame activist judges for scaring off the prosecution.
2/ Ernesto swathed lethal destruction, just not on American soil, and it’s the FIRST of how many storms of the season? I’d be very nervous about all incoming heavy weather too, when it’s painfully obvious there’s to be no practical assistance from governmental powers should it turn out to be actually bad.
3/ the polygamist cult leader (who has a Canadian connection in Bountiful BC) is responsible for multiple cases of systemized sexual abuse of female minors as the currency of loyalty among his clique’s male followers (among other fun pastimes). The fact he’s been running around loose this long, using cheezy disguises and likely crossing both south and north American borders with little distress says something about the so-called improved security since 9/11. But hey, since he’s nominally christian, he’s just a persecuted religious freedom fighter, not an anti-American fifth columnist who hates freedoms.
Besides, you forgot the usual weekly noise about terrorism that never happened, but it COULD have!
