A US federal judge has overturned new Bush administration rules that would have allowed use of pesticides on endangered species and their habitats without consultation with federal wildlife agencies stating that the change reflected a “total lack” of scientific justification and that there were “disturbing indications” the administration deliberately muted dissent from government scientists.

One of our local “so what if the ice melts” talk radio types is fond of using the, ‘if you put ice cubes in a glass, fill the glass with water, and let the ice cubes melt, the water will not overflow the glass so we’re not gonna flood if the polar ice caps melt’ talking points when discussing global warming or climate change – he’s right as far as he goes, but he’s not telling the whole story.
