It’s the only conclusion that I can come to after hearing on CFRA this morning that Israel was only trying to “disrupt Hezbollah” and not “targeting anything specific” when they blew up a bunch of women and kids… bombs and missiles fired randomly into residential areas to try and screw things up for the enemy; sounds like pretty damned familiar tactic doesn’t it? Isn’t that the same sort of shit Hezbollah does? The same sort of shit that a bunch of sanctimonious westerners say is deplorable? The same sort of shit that the Israeli government complains about so bitterly.

Support for this type of activity is the same as support for Hezbollah doing the same thing - and now they decide they’re gonna have a bit of a moratorium, a good old, see, we’re not the bad guys, we might have blown up a bunch of women and handicapped kids, but we’re not like those other guys, after we kill women and children we take a break, not like the other guys, they’re a bunch of animals, they don’t take breaks.

Ya know what? Screw ‘em. Screw their military, screw the government that orders the military to do what it is doing, and screw the people who voted for, and back the government, that is ordering the military to do what it is doing.. screw ‘em all.

Please spare us the “but they started it first”, because for every friggen, this was done in retaliation for X, Y, or Z, I, or someone else, can/will be able to list what the retaliation action was in retaliation for - hell, I bet given enough time we could get all the way back to that apple that monotheistic mythology says somebody took a bite of… and then debate whether it was gods fault for making the apple or the serpents for tempting honest folk with it.

- oh yes, and lest we forget, the UN security council is going to have a big assed meeting. Ain’t that gonna be a productive sit me down? Just why the why fu(|< are they wasting their time with that anyway? A pointless international circle jerk where everybody sits around a fancy table pulling their respective puds and wringing their hands - and then the United States will veto what ever resolution comes out of it, there will be more collective hand wringing, and more collective pud pulling, and then everybody will go out for beer or something and talk about the good work they are doing.

The UN security council is fast becoming a complete waste of table space and its’ collective veto holding membership a waste of good breathable air; and it will remain that way as long as a select group of countries have the power to say “nope, sorry, and no, screw you, we don’t need a reason, ‘just because’ is good enough”, and stop everything dead in it’s tracks.

Ya know what? Screw them to, and every country with a veto that sits around the table.

I can hardly wait to see what out Beloved Leader has to say about all this, I haven’t had time to check the news but I’m probably pretty safe in tossing a pre-emptive screw him, and his cabinet, out - it would be nice if he surprised me, but I’m not holding my breath.
