James Bow, Toronto blogger and author, launched his new novel The Unwritten Girl at Books on Beechwood yesterday, and balbulican was there with his trusty digital camera to record the event in order to provide an alibi for covert ops held that day for the bunker archives, and blogdom in general.

Ottawa bloggers from Bound By Gravity and stageleft were in attendance for the event and enjoyed themselves greatly. Good company, free coffee, donuts and cookies, and a reading by James…. how could it have been otherwise?

Protocol is always important at these events, so balbulican lined us up as close as he possibly could to an order of political leaning from left to right (although as a proper anarchist I thought we should be anywhere that we wanted to be, I didn’t make a big deal about this; in return Andrew did not push the idea that in his opinion right to left would have made a better picture). Here are myself, James, and Andrew from Bound By Gravity…. proof positive that we can all in fact get along regardless of where we sit in the political spectrum.

Protocol is not the only thing that is important when bloggers get together. As hath been decreed, wherever two or more bloggers shall gather together there shall be beer and assorted pub foods - and lo, after the book launch, there was beer and assorted pub foods.

Balbulican is not in this shot either, as he has decided to go with the mysterious shadowy persona shtick. Sitting beside Andrew is his lovely fiance Jennie, whose political leanings are as mysterous as balbulican would become had he his druthers.

There are more pictures at James’s blog. Do buy the book, it’s a good read; and if you’re lucky enough to have The Unwritten Girl tour come to your town go say hi to James, you won’t be sorry you did.
