Once again the Harper government has decided to renege on a deal with Aboriginal people. Hard on the heels of scrapping the Kelowna Accord and deciding to ignore the Kyoto Agreement, we read today that the CPoC has axed a federal agreement to move the Kashechewan reserve.
The Conservative government has sparked outrage among native people by reneging on a federal deal to help relocate the trouble-plagued Kashechewan reserve in Northern Ontario.
I’m sure everyone remembers Kashechewan and its evacuation; it was big news at the time, a whole community evacuated, people in hospitals, sick kids and old people, Canadians outraged that the conditions residents lived in were allowed to exist in our great country, the feds were gonna address the issue, yada, yada, yada… on and on and on….
– not gonna happen, and, once again it’s the Liberals fault. This ploy is becoming more than a little repetitive don’t you think?
Prentice walked away when Friday tried to question him in the Commons foyer.
If you can’t cut and run, blame the Liberals, or, if you can, follow the Prentice Principle and do both.

If it’s such a rat hole, why where they there in the first place? Was it originally a forced location of settlement?
