I had occasion to visit the Parliament buildings this afternoon, things are really a lot different than they were the last time I was there a year ago……
A year ago when I made my visit I walked up the front steps of the building and in I went, this time there were steel barricades — what’s up with that?
A year ago when I made my visit I signed in and went to where I was going after a quick walk through the scanner. This time it was jackets off, belt off, wallet, change, cell phone in a little basket (and don’t turn it on while you are in the building), and walk through a scanner set so intolerant that my earring set it off - well, it was either my earring, the metal eyelets in my combat boots, or the rivets in my jeans…. all three of those things also set off the wand when “Mr I’m A Serious Dude With A Wand So Don’t Even Think About Messing With Me You Long Haired Hippie Liberal” had me doing an immitation of you know who in a cross on the other side of the scanner.
It’s sad really….
Awwwwwe he just wanted to get to know you better. At least it wasn’t your underwire bra sparkin the alarms!
Do you think a nipple ring would go off? OK That would be worthy of a test. Lets have a contest - the next person through wears a a Janet Jackson special and let’s see what happens!
