No, it’s not me (that’ll come later), it’s a homespun offering by a stageleft regular who decided that our favorite local (Right)WingNut Lowell Green needed a theme song.
[audio:LowellsUnofficialThemeSong.mp3]
BTW, thanks, I have the song in my head now and it won’t go away…. Ow….and of course….
Are you gonna send it to lowell?
You know he WANTS to!!
You realize if Lowell did click his way over here and started reading he might very well blow a gasket, after all, the guy considers the Liberals dangerously left, I’m not sure where that would leave us. Ah well, sent him a quick note anyway, just couldn’t resist.
There is a theory of physics which holds that the entire universe is actually composed of a single sub-sub atomic particle, moving at an inconceivable velocity and making up all matter in the universe.
If that is the case, Lowell Green IS Stageleft.
Ponder THAT, if you dare.
*LOL*
Thank you very much… (sick people!)
Balb, I tried pondering that; and right behind that ponder came the one that Michiu Kaku posits — that the universe is expanding too rapidly to survive, and we are all doomed to die in about 50 million years or so, so we had all better figure out how to migrate to the next universe if we want to survive.
Those two ponders came together in my caffienated brain at about the same time, and I am now packing my bags for the trip!
Whooee! StagecoachDriver, you gotcherself a dandy audio boog, no two ways. I seen yesterday yer tryin’ t’ make a podcast. I tried that a bit, too. From what I hear-tell, fer it t’ be a really, trooly podcast, yer s’posed t’ wrap yer mp3 file inside o’ [enclosure] tags in the xml/rss file. I ain’t had any success in doin’ that with my audio boogs usin’ the blogger.com boog tools. I jest looked at yer RSS an’ there din’t see any enclosure tags.
The way I get it is that if yer podcastin’, there’s folks who subscribe t’ yer podcasts usin’ sum podcast subscription software. The way the subscription softwarew knows there’s a bran’ new podcast that’s s’posed t’ be downloaded is it looks fer the enclosure tags in the rss/xml.
I see sum o’ the fancy schmancy boogin’ tools sez they support podcastin’. Sumbuddy sed you can post up a hand writ xml file with all the right tags. That’s more codewritin’ than I care t’ do an’ I wouldn’t know where t’ post up that there xml, so I give up on it. Yer probbly a sharper tack than me an’ mebbe you can figger out what t’ do or mebbe yer happy with yer flash mp3 player. It works good, sez I.
Yores trooly,
JimBobby
Stageleft, do you have software that would let me add a guitar track to a JimBobby vocal?
JimBobby: I’m aware of the tagging issues but since audio blogging is not gonna be a staple of stageleft until I win the lottery and can afford the bandwidth it would generate I’m not gonna worry about them too much.
balbulican: download Audacity, record JimBobby’s vocals while listening them, record yer guitar playing, load both tracks into Audacity then save all as a single file.
Whooee! SL, yer on the selfsame page as me wrt the audio. I like makin’ a audio mp3 every once in a while but not very often.
Balbu, does this mean we’re gonna be a virtual duet? Mebbe like Pete Seeger an’ Woody Guthrie or like Seals an’ Croft or like Sonny an’ Cher or like Huntley an’ Brinkley or like Sickle an’ Eggbert? I’m all excited ’bout the possibilities. I reckon I’m inspired t’ work on a new tune.
JB
Sonny & Cher? Who’s who? Heh!
I’ve never tried to get my guitar to input to the computer, so this would be a really interesting exercise (the whole midi thing seemed fraught with peril and confusion, but the last time I looked into it was five years ago…is it easier now?). I’d love to.
Whooee! Balbu, I reckon you could jest mike the git-fiddle. I tried a little recordin’ where I miked sum o’ my ‘cordeen playin’ with the selfsame little wee mike that come with my ‘puter. Din’t sound too bad. A better mike’d probbly help. Never tried mixin’ it with my dulcet-toned singin’ voice. I can’t sing an’ play the ‘cordeen at the same time. Leastwise, not too good.
JB
Balb, I’ve been using a Line6 GuitarPort to get stuff into the computer and it works great. There’s a ton of good multitrack programs out right now. I like Cubase myself, but it’s pretty much personal preference, they all basically do the same stuff and even use the same plugins. You can get budget multitrack recording by adding a second sound card to your system. It’s rediculous what you can do with cheap gear nowadays. I recorded an albums worth of stuff with a low end PC and a mic held together with electrical tape about two years ago, and while not exactly pristine hi-fidelity it got pretty good reviews (from friends we made copies for).
Farewell blogging, hello rock and roll immortality.
Not bad. I don’t listen to him as you know, what with all my spare time being spent reading never-to-be-named right winger sites.
The audio thing has some definite potential here though. I like it a lot!
