Via YoungFox Canada the story of an elderly US Air Force Veteran arrested at a peaceful anti-war demonstration who is now having that, and other events completely irrelevent to her case as plaintiff in a traffic accident from 5 years ago, dredged up again.
In taking her deposition the Green Mountain State seems to think that her political leanings and activities, her sex life, a marriage that ended 35 years ago, and her being raped 40 years ago, are somehow relevent to a traffic accident where she was rear-ended by a vehicle from a state-owned trucking company.
Maybe they should change the state motto from “Freedom and Unity” to “Bend Over and Take It (or we’ll Dig Into Every Corner of Your Life, Relevent or Not, and Find a Way to Use it all Against You in Our Court of Law)”
If you read to the end of the YoungFox post you’ll see a request
We are appealing to you, dear reader, to take a few moments to write to one or all of the people listed below and join us in demanding a fair and equitable conclusion to this rather straightforward case of negligence on the part of an employee of the State of Vermont.
The harassment and obfuscation by the assistant to the state attorney general and the dragging out of this otherwise uncomplicated matter are Justice delayed and Justice denied.

Thanks so much Stageleft for helping to get the word out.
Could you imagine a trial deposition where your political writings and private life were brought into a case that had absolutely nothing to do with either?
It is a case of the state stepping on her rights plain and simple.
At the end of the article Stageleft so generously linked you will find email addresses to State officials, including the Governor of Vermont.
I humbly urge all who read it to drop a quick note or wordy letter to these officials and let them know this sort of intimidation will not fly in the “free worldâ€.
The sexual assault stuff is just beyond the pale.
Canadians take a whole lot of tourist business to Vermont and they should know that we are watching and waiting to see how they treat their own.
If they can screw with her claim because she is a “lefty†writer, what would happen if a Canadian “lefty†blogger got into the same sort of accident with a state owned vehicle?
Just imagine the mess if your insurance company had to face the State of Vermont? Would Stageleft be held against you in your claim?
Rosemarie is a sweet and passionate woman. She deserves our help.
Thank you so much for posting this and I hope your readers write to one or all of the officials.
