Not naming names or parties at all here. But please reflect on this for just a moment.

If you feel you have to leap to defend EVERY utterance, burp and fart of your preferred party/candidate, you’re going to manoeuver yourself into a very difficult space very quickly.

Some fairly stupid things were said this week by various politicians. And you know, not all of them were strategic gems cunningly positioned to defuse later attacks or appeal to odd corners of the electorate. Some were just bad ideas.

So don’t put your own critical faculties on hold, or bust a gut and jeopardize your own credibility trying to defend what may, in retrospect, prove to have been bad campaigning.
