More papal revisionism in the news, this time on the 40th anniversary of Nostra Aetate where pope Benedict The Revisioner XVI

….. said the anniversary was a time to thank God for the progress made in fostering reconciliation and understanding, “despite a complex and often painful history, and especially after the tragic experience of the Shoah, which was inspired by a neopagan racist ideology” espoused by the Nazis.

He’s certainly fixated on trying to make the connection between neopaganism, the Nazis, and the Holocaust, these days isn’t he? Too bad he gets to spout off his nonsense and disinformation in pursuit of rewriting history without the associated nastiness of having to justify or back up his statements — really now, how many good catholics are gonna question gods human representative on earth?

Can you imagine the outrage if the leader of any other faith on the planet stood up in public and tried to draw connections between catholicism, Hitler, the Nazis, and the Holocaust? It’s a far closer connection than the neopagan one - Hitler was a catholic, he justified many of his actions on biblical grounds, and the lack of concrete action or significant condemnation out of the Vatican at the time was more than a tad shadey….. don’t ‘cha think?

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. “Who controls the past” ran the Party slogan, “controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.”
